On Sept. 12, the Retired Teachers of Ontario/ Les enseignantes et enseignants retraités de l’Ontario launches a new wellness portal. As part of RTO/ERO’s ongoing commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle, this portal will encourage members and other website visitors to improve their physical and mental health, while offering preventative health strategies through webinars and wellness resources. Members who hold an insurance policy can log in to take advantage of additional features such as health questionnaires and competing in online health challenges. Visit the RTO/ERO wellness portal at www.rto-ero.org/mywellness.
The Canadian population is aging. Today, there are now more Ontarians 65+ than 15 and younger. Many adults need encouragement and support to maintain healthy habits like getting the recommended amount of daily physical activity and making balanced food choices–for example, eating five to 12 daily servings of fruits and vegetables.
“Healthy habits benefit us throughout our lives, and it’s never too late to make a change for the better,” says Martha Foster, chair of the RTO/ERO board of directors “Our new wellness portal is a way of motivating RTO/ERO members to make positive preventative changes to their own lifestyles and to support them as they live their lives to the fullest.”
